What this site collects

TornadoRiskCheck does not require an account and does not collect personal information to show you a county's tornado history. Like almost every website, hosting and analytics infrastructure automatically logs standard technical data - IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps - for security and aggregate traffic measurement. Analytics data is aggregated and is not used to identify you individually.

Cookies

Analytics cookies may be set to distinguish repeat visits from new ones. Google AdSense, which is active on this site, may also set cookies to serve and personalize ads; see Google's own advertising and privacy policies for how that works. No affiliate relationship is live today; if one goes live, its own cookie and privacy disclosures will be added here at the same time.

Advertising and affiliate links

TornadoRiskCheck earns money from display advertising served by Google AdSense. AdSense may use cookies to personalize the ads shown to you; see Google's own advertising and privacy policies for how that works. This site has no live affiliate relationship today; if that changes, this paragraph and the relevant page's disclosure line are updated together, deliberately, so an affiliate relationship can never go live silently.

Third parties

Tornado data comes from NOAA, a public agency; no personal data is exchanged with it. Links to contractor or insurance partners, once live, take you to that partner's own site, governed by their own privacy policy. Hosting is provided by Firebase (Google). No data collected here is sold to third parties.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over the limited data described above - for example under California's CCPA/CPRA, other US state privacy laws, or GDPR for EU/UK visitors. Where they apply, these can include the right to know what's collected, request its deletion, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of information for targeted advertising. To make any of these requests, email hello@tornadoriskcheck.com.

AdSense's own ad-personalization controls are at adssettings.google.com, and general industry opt-out tools are listed at optout.aboutads.info - both work independently of this site.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
